The hot stamping machine can form metallic glossy images and texts on the surface of the product, which is something that traditional printing methods such as pad printing and silk screen printing cannot do. Many printers have tried to use the method of printing gold, but the glossiness is difficult to be recognized by customers.
The hot stamping machine can hot stamp flat products or cylindrical products. To hot stamp cylindrical products, it is necessary to refer to the principle of printing cylindrical products with a silk screen printer, so that the cylindrical product rotates during the hot stamping process, and the hot stamping plate and the product move relative to each other.
Anodized aluminum itself is to evenly evaporate powdered metal chips on PET film. Hot stamping is to transfer this metal layer under the action of pressure and heat, so the glossiness of the metal layer can be retained to the maximum extent.
The semi-automatic cylindrical hot stamping machine has the following main structures
1) Workbench:
The workbench is equipped with a device that can drive the product to move and rotate at a uniform speed. The economical hot stamping machine will use a cylinder to drive it. In order to make the movement and rotation of the product more stable, some hot stamping machines will use oil-gas integrated cylinders to push, and higher-grade hot stamping uses servo motors for control;
2) Hot stamping plate
The hot stamping plate of the hot stamping machine is used to install the copper plate or silicone plate. It can be glued on or fixed with screws. The hot stamping plate of the hot stamping machine can be raised and lowered. When it descends, it touches the product and presses the hot stamping foil tightly on the surface of the product. The protruding part on the hot stamping plate will transfer the metal layer on the hot stamping foil. The up and down movement of the hot stamping plate can be controlled by pneumatic, hydraulic or motor. The hot stamping plate is made of high-strength steel and is equipped with a heating tube, which generates heat when powered on.
3) Operation panel:
The operation panel of the hot stamping machine mostly uses a microcomputer operation panel, which can set different parameters such as temperature, pressure and time. The panel is usually also equipped with buttons for operating the machine.
4) Hot stamping foil conveying device
The hot stamping machine does not use any ink but hot stamping foil, which is a significant feature that distinguishes the hot stamping machine from other printing equipment, and is also the main reason why it is environmentally friendly equipment. During the hot stamping process, the hot stamping foil is pressed against the product and rotates with the product. Part of the coating is transferred to the surface of the product, and the other part remains on the PET base film, forming waste. The hot stamping foil is currently driven by a motor.
In terms of production efficiency, the hot stamping machine is relatively low compared to the pad printing machine and the screen printing machine because the action is more complicated. In order to improve efficiency, it is necessary to use a fully automatic curved hot stamping machine. The fully automatic curved hot stamping machine refines the structure of the hot stamping machine and installs an automatic loading device and an automatic unloading device.
1) Single-station automatic hot stamping machine
Ordinary hot stamping machines are equipped with automatic loading and unloading devices, which are single-station automatic hot stamping machines. Their hot stamping speed has not been significantly improved, but manual intervention has been reduced, and production efficiency has been slightly improved.
2) Vertical turntable automatic hot stamping machine
The more mature automatic hot stamping machine is a vertical turntable structure, which has 8-10 or even more stations. The product will be placed on the conveyor belt and transferred to the station and automatically clamped on the station by a push mechanism, and then transported to the pre-processing device and hot stamping device with the turntable; the hot stamping plate of the automatic hot stamping machine moves left and right at the same time.
After the hot stamping is completed, the product will continue to be driven to the unloading position, and the robot will take the product off and place it on the unloading conveyor belt.
The automatic hot stamping machine has a complex structure and is expensive. Its production efficiency is 2-5 times that of the semi-automatic hot stamping machine. It is a tool for large hot stamping factories to continuously expand their market space and earn huge profits.
